This 1998 release is the debut of a post-Thela project from the New Zealand underground. Those expecting a progression on the minimal post-rock sound of that group may be surprised to hear two of the group's members taking steps in a minimal electronica direction. However, this is not a digital emancipation of noise, as the duo created this series of short, repetitious vignettes with primitive electronics of a bygone era, resulting in a hazy, almost dub atmosphere which is as close to early Cabaret Voltaire and Coil as it is to Oval or Gas. Parmentier could be the missing link in lo-fi noise and avant-garde electronica of the late '90s. All Music Guide
The orientation of this blog is by nature eclectic: drone; ambient, experimental, field recordings, modern classical. The purpose of "I' ll read you a story" is not to make profit or to plunder, but to present the works of artists and labels, all more fantastic some than the others .... They need your support to keep on living, to make their art exist, so buy their records, go to the concerts. Make the promotion and if what you listen appeals to you, do not hesitate to leave a comment, that always pleases… However if you were an artist or the label owning the rights and if you disapprove that one of your works is located here, send me a mail, the link will be deleted immediately.
